Dylan Nicks
My childhood was full of plants. I spent my time alternating between my grandparents' agricultural farm and my mothers indoor gardens. This background and a personal appreciation for flora made me eager to share my passion through a botanical-based venture. Beyond Plant Parenthood, I am double majoring in Computer Science and Business at UNC. My hobbies include playing for the UNC men’s club handball team, working as a white water raft guide in the summer, driving with the windows down, and spending quality time with my family.
At Plant Parenthood, I contribute my background in social media management, graphic design, and entrepreneurship to Plant Parenthood. I oversees social media, economic decisions, and sourcing business opportunities.
Max Nelson
I am a dedicated plant enthusiast interested in the role of small business sustainability in the fight against climate change. At UNC I am a double major in Environmental Science and Public Policy and am an active member of Epsilon Eta and the Renewable Energy Special Projects Committee (RESPC).
At Plant Parenthood, I contribute a botanical background and a major in Environmental Science. I oversees the creation of posters, plant sourcing, and legal responsibilities including tax information.
Indira Van Kanegan
I grew up with a love for houseplants and the way they can completely change the feel of a room. After graduating from UNC with a degree in Statistics and Analytics, I now work as a Data Scientist at a software company. But my passion for sustainability and the mission of Plant Parenthood made joining the team a natural fit.
At Plant Parenthood, I’m usually behind the scenes—building the website you’re reading right now, managing accounting, developing data insights, and, most importantly, keeping the boys in line (kidding… mostly).
